Abstract: In order to improve the high residual stress of traditional beam-column joints, 5 buckling-restrained braces of ductile casting connectors with different parameters was tested subjected to axial compression loading, and the length of the energy dissipating section of the casting connectors and the width-to-thickness ratio of the energy dissipating plate were analyzed. The effect of the stiffener width-thickness ratio and other parameters on the mechanical properties such as the bearing capacity, ductility and stiffness of the specimen is analyzed. The results show that the buckling-restrained braces with ductile casting connector has good bearing capacity, ductility and rigidity, and its bearing capacity is proportional to the length of the energy dissipating section of the connector and the width to thickness ratio of the energy dissipating plate. This new type of support concentrates the inelastic deformation of the structure on the ductile casting connector, protects the safety of the rest of the structure, and improves the plastic deformation ability of the structure.
