Abstract: The nickel-based alloy/glass powder composite coating was prepared on the surface of 45 steel by flame spraying technology. The coating was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy spectrum analysis (EDS), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), microhardness analysis and pin-disk friction wear test. The effects of the amount of glass powder on the microstructure, phase composition, hardness and tribological properties of the nickel-based coating were studied. The results showed that the microhardness of the composite coating increases first and then decreases with the increase of glass powder content, and the maximum hardness reach 681 HV0.2. The friction coefficient and volume wear rate of the composite coating decrease first and then increase. The friction coefficient of the composite coating with 10% glass powder addition is as low as 0.13, and the wear rate is as low as 0.21×10-5 mm3/(N·m),which show that the addition of appropriate glass powder is beneficial to the improvement of the tribological properties of thenickel-based alloy coating.
